Pillow Top Mattress

In 2002 I bought a Simmons Beautyrest Piedmont Super Pillow Top Mattress – it was wonderful. Now, it makes me miserable. I do believe it has conformed to fit my body; which is not a good thing.
I need some opinions.

got a pillow top a few years ago as my husband was complaining that our mattress which I found perfect, was too firm. We agreed on a firmness and bought a pillow top mattress a few years ago. At first it was comfy, but I soon realized that you can’t flip a pillow top mattress, only rotate it which sort of makes it dip in both sides.. Not to mention it’s really hot! If we lived up north I might like it, but in Texas it makes us hot. The small back problems I had seem terrible when I wake up, and although it’s partly my age, I think some of it is due to the lack of support with the PT, which I got with a regular mattress. If you have back aches, is it better to have a firm or soft mattress?
K- thought of sleep number, but isn’t that kind of like an air mattress? I’m thinking of getting a king box spring and getting two twins of different firmness to put on top. Is that possible?

I bought a 2.5 inch thick memory foam "topper" from Costco and while it’s very comfortable it’s too hot. Does memory foam breathe? The other night I woke up sweating even though there is a down mattress cover over the memory foam. My back was actually hot to the touch. I wasn’t sweating due to a hot bedroom; it was about 65 degrees.
I’m thinking about getting rid of it and buying a pillow top mattress.
OK, crappy question but I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.

I would like to find a new mattress for my European bed. The mattress needs to be an olympic queen size (66 x 80) and I would like to have a pillow top / individual coil mattress. I know that Simmons makes this size in the US, but they don’t make it in Canada. Anyone know somewhere I can buy one or order one in Canada?

I have a Serta mattress that is only about 4 years old that is sagging in the middle. A one piece box spring would not fit up our stairs so we got a split box spring — could it be the source of the problem? It’s a queen sized pillow top, no flip mattress.

When we do replace it, should the box spring be replaced as well?

I have a little girl who Drinks PINK MILK at night well Im sure you know what I’m going to ask! How do i get the stains out? I had the bed scothguarded when I bought it but I cant seem to get it clean is there any advise on getting the stains out or at least how to treat them if it happens again??

I’m trying to decide between a Sealy Ultra Plush and the Ulta Plush + Pillow top from the same line. A few people have told me that after awhile the pillow top sinks down and you don’t get enough support, so it might not be worth the extra 0 I’d be paying… Then again some people swear by their pillow top mattresses… so which should I get?

My girlfriend fell in love with this pine wood bed that she saw during our vacation abroad and wanted to buy it. It is a platform bed with a pillow top mattress on top, manufactured locally. However, we were told by a friend that there are restrictions on taking mattresses into the U.S. I’d like to know what these restrictions are. If it’s too costly to bring a mattress in, where could I order a custom size mattress made?

My fiancee and I found a warehouse where they are selling a plush pillow top queen mattress set for 0. It’s an Englander Tolouse I believe and it was really comfy and nice. I’m wondering if I’m getting a good deal of if I can find something better somewhere else. To me this seems like a great price because the bed is very comfy but I know nothing about mattress buying.

My boyfriend just bought a new pillow top mattress for his bed. He accidentally spilled a bottle of Propel(water with some sugars in it) onto it and it left a stain.. what can he do to safely get rid of this?

I will be purchasing a new mattress. What is the best mattress to purchase. What are your thoughts re a pillow top mattress. They can’t be flipped over. Is that a disadvantage?

I have a pillow top mattress less than a year old. My male cat decided to urinate all over it a few months back. Using a pet cleaner (Natures Miracle) I got the smell out completely. But it turned my white mattress to yellow where the chemicals were sprayed to clean the urine. Is there any way to get my white mattress back?
The yellow isnt urine stays, its stains from the chemical I used to clean it. Which at the time was worth it to get that cat pee smell out.
